Marcus Smart proposes his girlfriend Maisa Hallum by throwing Celtics fans off the edge

Reigning DPOY, Marcus Smart recently put the Celtics fans on edge after his series of tweets. In the Tweets, he said he was leaving, which definitely got the fans worried however that’s not what he meant by leaving. Smart has had quite a solid Christmas, he and the Celtics beat the Bucks 139-118 and he also got his ring.

Marcus Smart on Christmas proposed to his girlfriend Maisa Hallum, after four years of dating. While it may not be the championship ring he so eagerly is waiting for, he’s finally engaged to the love of his life. And the Celtics’ fans can breathe easy as their favorite defender is not leaving the franchise but is instead saying goodbye to his bachelor life.

Smart later announced on Twitter, that his girlfriend had accepted his proposal. He shared the entire proposal video on Instagram. Will Smith is heard in the video wishing the couple a happy holiday season and adding, “You’re not going to end this Christmas empty-handed” The next thing you see is Smart knelt down and tapped Hallam on the shoulder. Shortly after Sunday’s 139-118 home victory over the Bucks by the Celtics, Smart made his proposal.

As soon as Smart announced his engagement on social media, his NBA family showered him with congratulations. “Congrats my dawg!” Smart’s teammate, Jayson Tatum, commented on Instagram, while Knicks star Obi Toppin wrote, “Yes sir Brodie.”

Some fans though are also angry with Smart for the way he revealed the good news to them. As the DPOY almost had people believe that he’s about to part ways with the Celtics. But fortunately, that wasn’t the case as he was just announcing him leaving the single life.

Who is Maisa Hallum, Marcus Smart’s fiancée

An entrepreneur and creative director, Maisa Hallum has been romantically linked to Boston Celtics’ guard Marcus Smart since 2018. After four years of dating, Marcus Smart made the decision to move things along with Maisa Hallum. Although they are not yet married, this appears to be about to change.

Hallum is frequently spotted courtside at Boston Celtics games supporting her future husband, but she is so much more to the athlete than just a pretty face. After graduating from college, she co-founded Sousa Swim with her sister Naseme, which sells swimwear.

Hallum and Smart lead highly discreet social lives in the age of social media and internet frenzy. The two don’t disclose much about their connection to the public outside of a few posts. Even Hallum herself no longer has an Instagram account. The couple doesn’t seem to mind their quiet lifestyle and they look quite eager to begin their new chapter of marriage.
