WATCH: Throwback to Novak Djokovics hilarious rendition of the Christmas song!

With the festive season upon us, most sports have now taken a short break for the festivities so that the players can enjoy the festivities with their loved ones. With a dearth in action at the mom moment, let’s visit back a hilarious video of Novak Djokovic from Christmas in 2008.

At that time, Djokovic was starting to show signs of the glorious career he would eventually go on to enjoy. He won his first Grand Slam title in the form of the 2008 Australian Open by defeating Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Djokovic’s hilarious Christmas video from 2008

In a very hilarious video, players from men’s and women’s tennis all over the world tried their best to recreate the song 12 Days of Christmas. However, standing out from all other attempts, Novak Djokovic, along with his head coach Marian Vajda, decided to remix the song to suit them better.

Novak Djokovic, who was World No. 3 at the time, sang the song along with his coach Marian Vajda. Like the other players attempting the challenge, the Serbian was also dressed aptly for the part.

Right from the beginning of his song, Djokovic couldn’t keep his Santa beard in place, with the prop constantly falling off from his face. The Serb also chose not to wear a Santa hat, instead hilariously lifting his Santa Robe to his head to create a makeshift Santa rug over his head.

Novak then went on to follow it up by singing a wrong Stanza of the song, before midway screaming “NO!” on realizing his mistake. His coach then told up to follow his lead and sing alongside him, but the Serb slipped up again in the very next line and instead burst out laughing.

Moving on, with the lines nine ladies dancing and the eight maids a-milking, Djokovic sensed an inevitable mistake. Thus, the moment he went from eight to three, he immediately yelled “Merry Christmas to everybody, yeah!” Then, both he and Vajda broke into laughter.

Djokovic and Vajda then took their seats again after a short break. However, this time, the then-World No.3 was not wearing any of the Santa robes. Instead, the Serb was looking hilarious wearing just a white Santa beard with plain clothes.

Ultimately, the player-coach duo decided to get done singing as fast as possible. Thus, they finished the song lightning-quick, simply speaking out the words instead of singing them. As soon as they were done, Novak Djokovic took off his beard, wished everyone a Merry Christmas, and left the frame.
